Common questions.

First Nations governments, nonprofits and foundations, public agencies and commissions, universities, and growing businesses where the website carries the reputation. Our clients are across Canada, the US and internationally. The common thread is that they're accountable to everyone they serve, and their digital presence has to work for all of those people, not just the easiest ones to reach.

It depends on the work. A focused SEO or Google Ads engagement starts in a very different place than a full website build with brand strategy and community consultation. We scope and price against the actual work required rather than a standard package, and we'd rather talk about budget early so we can recommend the right approach for where you are. If a smaller first step makes more sense, we'll say so.

Most website projects run 4 to 6 months from kickoff to launch, depending on scope. Discovery and strategy usually take 3 to 6 weeks, design and development 8 to 12, and content, testing and launch fill the rest. Projects with several stakeholders or a consultation phase take longer, and we plan for that up front rather than discovering it halfway through. You'll get a realistic timeline at the start and updates throughout.

Yes. That describes most of our projects. A council, a board, several departments, a community, and they don't always want the same thing. We start by finding the common ground, the things everyone agrees matter, and build from there. The harder calls get easier once there's something solid underneath them. By launch, people who came in with different priorities are looking at the same site and standing behind it.

Usually, yes. We build on WordPress so your team can run the site day to day: pages, content and images stay editable without a developer, while the parts that shouldn't be touched stay locked down. When a project needs more than a theme and plugins can offer, we build custom features and integrations on top. We've supported WordPress in production for more than a decade, so we've usually seen whatever is going wrong before.

Yes. Government and nonprofit websites have legal obligations here, and it's the right way to build regardless. We build to WCAG 2.1 AA from the start rather than as a retrofit: colour contrast, keyboard navigation, screen reader support and readable structure. The Accessible Canada Act is tightening and ADA Title II deadlines are here. If you're unsure where an existing site stands, we can audit it.

Yes, and most of our clients stay with us long-term. Our longest client relationship is eleven years. Our retained partnerships bundle website maintenance services with growth work: monitoring, security and plugin updates, content changes, search and advertising management, and quarterly strategy reviews, all from a team that already knows your site. We don't build and disappear. Your digital presence should keep evolving as your organization does.

The Google Ad Grant gives eligible nonprofits up to $10,000 per month in free Google Search advertising. We handle the application, campaign setup and ongoing management. Most nonprofits use only a small fraction of the grant, and many accounts drive traffic that never turns into donors, volunteers or program participants. We build campaigns around your actual organizational goals so the grant works as a real growth tool, and we report on outcomes, not just clicks.

A growing share of people now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews instead of scrolling through search results. AI search optimization, sometimes called GEO, makes sure your organization shows up in those answers with accurate information. If your content isn't structured for these tools, you're invisible to that audience. We optimize for traditional search and AI search at the same time, because the fundamentals overlap: clear structure, real expertise, and content that answers the questions people are actually asking.

Yes. We're based in Vancouver and work with organizations across Canada, the US, the Caribbean and internationally. Many of our longest partnerships have always been remote. Video calls, shared project tools and clear communication make distance a non-issue, and if a project calls for being in the room, for a community consultation or a launch, we'll be there.

Three things. We do the whole span: we're in the first consultation, we design and build it, and we're still there years later doing the search, content and maintenance work that keeps it useful. We're genuinely multidisciplinary, with backgrounds in business, design, engineering, marine science, journalism and coaching, which changes how we approach problems. And we care about what you're building. We work with mission-aligned organizations because we do better work when we believe in the mission.

Send us a note through the contact page with a few lines about what you're working on and what a good outcome would look like. We usually reply within a business day or two to set up a call. That first conversation is about understanding your situation, not pitching you. If we're not the right fit, we'll tell you and point you somewhere better.
