The Problem
The Chai Company is one of largest makers of Chai products and they wanted a new website that would support themselves in their future growth. Their existing site was built in Flash and given the incompatibility with Apple products and current trends, they knew they needed to rebuild their site from the ground up. They engaged Brady Dahmer Design (BDD), a strategic branding agency, and Ideahack to design and develop the site respectively.
With 20% of users accessing the web via mobile devices and growing, it has become clear to many businesses that they shoud invest in designing web experiences for multiple screen sizes*. There are even rumours that Google is giving mobile responsive sites more relevance when using Google search on a mobile device. Given these trends, we knew it was essential for Chai Company's new website to maintain its look and feel across devices while ensuring users could navigate and use the site with ease.

We worked closely with the Chai Company and BDD to incorporate the original design into the mobile responsive pages. We integrated Wordpress as the content management system to enable the Chai Company to manage the core elements of the site on an ongoing basis. We also incorporated some unique features such as a recipe page where users could easily navigate through numerous chai recipes on any device. We really wanted to make sure the user experience was intuitive so that users could get the information they needed as simple as possible.
The Result
Users could now easily browse the site across any device and still have a consistent and memorable experience with the Chai Company brand.
